Abstract
Mega construction projects have experienced significant growth globally and in Egypt, with the total value of major projects in sectors like energy, infrastructure, and housing reaching approximately $95.11 billion in Egypt. This expansion reflects increased investments and governmental efforts to boost the national economy through large-scale projects. Effective project management and the integration of information systems are critical to project success, yet challenges remain in their implementation. These challenges stem from internal organizational issues, such as resource constraints and culture, as well as external factors like regulatory pressures.
This study identifies and evaluates 57 factors affecting the implementation of information systems in construction project management across three phases: pre-construction, construction, and post-construction. Using the Relative Importance Index (RII) method, input from 135 project management professionals prioritizes these factors. Findings indicate that leadership and teamwork competencies, CEO expertise, senior management support, and the adoption of quality systems are essential to project success. Additionally, external pressures from competitors, clients, and partners, along with an organization's openness to innovative technologies, significantly influence project outcomes
