Abstract
Micropiles are prevalently harnessed in numerous geotechnical applications, such as supporting foundations, stabilizing slopes, underpinning existing buildings, and enhancing grounds. Many traditional, diverse micropiles have been investigated in multiple applications, but recently, an advanced concept of formatting micropiles has been discovered. This novel form is known as waveform micropiles and was created by fusing the jet grouting technology with the traditional micropile conception. The wavy-form micropiles were developed to enhance the shaft resistance, enhance the bearing capacities, and reduce prohibitive costs. This study aims to provide a state of art regarding modern wave micropiles. The preparation of this review depends on thorough analytical, numerical, field, and experimental investigations that have paramount influences in advancing our knowledge in the design of novel wavy micropiles. The behavior of waveform micropiles under diverse applied loads and how they can boost bearing capacities are also covered in the paper. In addition, the research deeply discusses the installation procedure, material properties, interactions with surrounding soils, transfer loads, and loading test results.
